Youth Programs

 California SAR & BSA Youth Protection Training
Any SAR member involved with youth programs (I.E., having contact with youth as part of these programs); those members will have to complete the online BSA Youth Protection Training. This training can be accessed online and free. It takes only about 30 minutes to register and complete.

Once member(s) have completed the training, they should send a copy of their BSA YPT completion certificate to the Director, Youth Programs CASSAR:  Derek Brown.

Robert E. Burt Boy Scout Volunteer Award

The Robert E. Burt Boy Scout Volunteer Award is for scouters of the Sons of the American Revolution. It is an honor due to members of the Sons of the American Revolution who act as role models and provide dedicated service to the young men in the Boy Scouts of America.

The Chairman of the Robert E. Burt Boy Scout Volunteer Award is David  Beall.

Valley Forge Teacher Recognition Program

The award is open to all 5th Grade Elementary School Teachers, 8th Grade and High School American History Teachers, either public, private or parochial who teach the American Revolution.  The selected teachers (up to two each year) will receive a trip to one of three Summer Graduate Teacher Workshops through the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
 
The 2015 SAR sponsored trip is "Revolution in the Middle States"
